Right after joining the political race, the cricketers, actors and singers declared their assets to the Election Commission of India. While some claimed their worth took a dive, some made it to the rich list, phase-wise. Here’s a look at who’s worth what:BCCL2/11It’s All About The MoneyLegendary cricketer Gautam Gambhir (R), who is making his electoral debut with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) this year in East Delhi, declared an income of Rs 12.40 crore in income tax returns filed in 2017-2018. With a total worth of Rs 147 crore, the 37-year-old became the richest candidate in the national capital. The cricketer’s movable assets amount to Rs 116 crore, and immovable assets are worth Rs 28 crore.According to the income tax returns filed in 2017-2018, his wife – Natasha Gambhir – also showed an earning of Rs 6.15 lakh.BCCL3/11The Billionaire Couple Actress Hema Malini, who is contesting polls from Mathura on a BJP ticket, became a billionaire as she declared (movable and immovable) assets worth Rs 101 crore. Her value includes cars, bungalows, jewellery, and shares in jewellery. Her worth has gone up by Rs 34.46 crore in the past five years. During the same period, her husband Dharmendra’s value increased to Rs 12.30 crore with a total worth Rs 123.85 crore. Vintage cars dominated the assets of the ‘Sholay’ actor. BCCL4/11Crazy Rich Asians ‘Gadar’ actor Sunny Deol will make his political debut this year with a BJP ticket by contesting elections from the Gurdaspur constituency. The 62-year-old, in his affidavit to the EC, declared his and his wife’s combined assets worth Rs 87.18 crore. His movable assets are worth Rs 60.46 crore that includes vehicles worth Rs 1.69 crore, and jewellery (that belongs to his wife) which costs Rs 1.56 crore. In immovable assets worth Rs 21 crore, he has declared his agricultural and non-agricultural land, and a flat at Mumbai’s Oshiwara Complex. BCCL5/11Colour Of Money Actress Urmila Matondkar, who contested elections from Mumbai North, declared assets worth Rs 68.28 crore. In her affidavit to the EC, the 45-year-old actress confirmed that her income has doubled to Rs 2.85 crore in 2017-2018 as compared to Rs 1.27 crore in 2013-2014. Her movable and immovable assets are worth a little over Rs 40 crore and Rs 27 crore, respectively. BCCL6/11The PM’s Worth Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared assets worth Rs 2.5 crore in his affidavit to EC. The PM’s movable and immovable assets are worth Rs 1.41 crore and Rs 1.1 crore, respectively. The 68-year-old politician owns a residential plot in Gandhinagar, and four gold rings (45 grams) worth Rs 1.13 lakh. Besides these, he also holds fixed deposits worth Rs 1.27 crore, and has Rs 7.61 lakh in National Saving Certificate and Rs 1.9 lakh in LIC policies. He has a total of Rs 38,750 cash in hand.BCCL

7/11Show Me The Money Total worth of the Chandigarh MP Kirron Kher, who is contesting polls on a BJP ticket, stands at 45.91 crore. The movable and immovable assets of the actress-turned-politician amount to Rs 16.97 crore and Rs 13.91 crore, respectively, in an affidavit to the EC. This declared 16 kg gold jewellery and 8 kg silver, worth a total of Rs 4.64 crore. Her actor-husband, Anupam Kher, holds movable assets priced at Rs 14.86 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 1.75 crore. BCCL8/11Rich And Famous Boxing star Vijender Singh, who joined the Indian National Congress few weeks ahead of elections, contested elections this year from the South Delhi constituency. The 33-year-old, who is pitted against BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri and Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha, declared his total worth over 8.62 crore, and Rs 45 lakh annual income in 2017-18. The Congress candidate declared movable and immovable assets worth Rs 3.57 crore and Rs 5.05 crore respectively. According to the affidavit submitted to EC, the Olympic bronze medallist has a residential property in Haryana’s Bhiwani worth Rs 75 lakh. He also has valuables (and jewellery) worth Rs 5 lakh, and a vehicle worth Rs 7 lakh that was gifted by the Haryana government. Agencies9/11Cash Camp Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari, who has been a part of the political race for a long time now, declared his assets worth over Rs 24 crore in the poll affidavit, which grew over Rs 4.33 crore after the 2014 polls. The 48-year-old filed an income tax return in 2017-2018 of Rs 48.03 lakh. However, he had declared an income of Rs 85 lakh in 2014. BCCL

10/11The Money Game The movable and immovable assets of Babul Supriyo saw a massive drop this year. The singer-turned-politician, who contested elections from Asansol constituency this year on a BJP ticket, declared his worth Rs 3.85 crore this year. His worth took a hit of Rs 3.49 crore from the 2014 elections, where his declared assets were worth Rs 7.34 crore. The 48-year-old’s movable assets include bank deposits (Rs 7.99 lakh), cash in hand (Rs 46,000), 200 gms of gold (Rs 6 lakh) and three vehicles (Rs 50.69 lakh). His immovable assets that made a total of Rs 2.55 crore show a Lokhandwala flat in Mumbai, a house in West Bengal’s Howrah, a residential flat and 2,700 sq ft non-farm land in Uttarakhand. BCCL11/11Inside The Crore Club Former Punjabi Singer Hans Raj Hans, who will be contesting elections from North-West Delhi on a BJP ticket, showed an income of Rs 9.28 lakh in the ITR filed in 2017-2018. His worth significantly dipped after 2013-2014 at Rs 22.64 lakh income. The 57-year-old and his wife have declared movable assets worth Rs 1.44 crore and Rs 18.50 lakh, respectively.
