PUNE: After dominating the four-edition World Cup series by winning all four gold medals in the 10m air pistol event, Saurabh Chaudhary and Abhishek Verma are now ruling the world ranking.

In a first, the Indian duo have been placed 1-2 in the latest rankings released by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF).
Saurabh, who had won gold at the New Delhi and Munich editions and bronze in Rio de Janeiro has been placed on top, while Abhishek has got the second spot after his gold-winning show at Beijing and Rio.
The duo of Apurvi Chandela and Elavenil Valarivan have been placed 1-2 in women’s 10m air rifle event respectively. Apurvi had clinched the yellow metal in the New Delhi edition along with creating a new final’s World Record.
She followed it up by taking the first spot in the Munich edition. On the other hand, Elavenil won gold at the ongoing Rio World Cup.
Saurabh was earlier placed second, while Abhishek was fourth. Apurvi maintained her first position, while Elavenil made her entry to the top-10 by pushing Anjum Moudgil to seventh position.
Overall, 10 Indian shooters have made it to the top-10 in their respective events, another first for the sport in country.
